We operate on a rolling calendar for undergraduate admissions, which means that your file is read, and a decision is made as quickly as possible once we have the required supporting documents. You are typically notified of our decision within 7 to 10 business days!

Which application should you choose?

Whether you’re hoping to become an undergraduate, graduate, or online student, our applications are as quick and painless as they can be. Most applications will take 15 minutes or less to complete – and we do not charge an application fee or require an essay or recommendations for most undergraduate applicants.


Apply as an On-Campus Undergraduate Student

First-Year Student

You will have completed high school, home school or a GED by the time you enroll. You have not enrolled in coursework at a post-secondary college or university after graduating from high school (dual enrolled students are considered freshmen). You wish to take on-campus courses.

Transfer Student

You have or are currently enrolled in coursework at a post-secondary college or university after graduating from high school and you wish to take on-campus courses in pursuit of an undergraduate degree from Ó³¿ÍÖ±²¥. If you are currently enrolled in one of our Transfer Partners institutions and wish to take dual enrollment courses at Ó³¿ÍÖ±²¥, use the Transfer Partners application link below.

Veteran or Active-Duty Military Student

You are on active duty or a veteran of the military and you wish to take on-campus courses.

International Student

You are a new international student and wish to take on-campus courses. If you have trouble opening the application linked above because of low bandwidth, please use the low-bandwidth application.

Returning Student

You were previously enrolled on-campus at Ó³¿ÍÖ±²¥ and discontinued your studies for one year or more or enrolled at another institution after leaving Ó³¿ÍÖ±²¥.

Non-Degree Seeking Student

You are a new student looking to take individual classes on the Ó³¿ÍÖ±²¥ campus, but you are not seeking a degree from Ó³¿ÍÖ±²¥. This could include new students who are taking courses to fulfill pre-requisites for a graduate program, students who are seeking to take MU classes as a visiting/transient student and transferring courses back to their current school, students seeking personal or professional development, students who wish to audit a class for no credit, and many other reasons. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible to participate in intercollegiate athletics or live in campus housing facilities unless otherwise approved.

Apply as an Online Undergraduate Student

New or Transfer Students

You are a new student seeking to take undergraduate courses in a fully online setting. Please note that students who wish to live in campus residential facilities or participate in intercollegiate athletics must take classes on campus.

Online Residency Licensure Program Students

You have earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university or college and you are currently employed or are seeking employment in a local school system and wish to obtain North Carolina teaching licensure.
