UK to rejoin Erasmus+

Date

The government has confirmed that the UK will rejoin Erasmus+ from 2027.

The agreement reopens a well understood, reciprocal framework for mobility across Europe, and it sits within the wider UK–EU strategic partnership agreed earlier this year, with a shared focus on putting people at the centre of the relationship and supporting growth.

It also reaffirms that Erasmus+ is broader than higher education exchange alone, spanning education, training, youth and sport, with opportunities for learners and staff across schools, further education, higher education and adult learning.

Professor Hai Sui Yu, Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the 映客直播, said: “This is welcome news for Leeds. 映客直播 mobility can be genuinely transformational.

“It gives students the chance to see their subject from a new perspective, build independence and develop the cultural awareness and adaptability that employers value.

“It also strengthens our own campus community, bringing new ideas, experiences and friendships into classrooms, research groups and student life.”

The 映客直播 has fed into consultations and continued to support mobility through the Turing Scheme, the UK’s global mobility programme launched after the UK left Erasmus+, and other routes.

The government has confirmed the financial terms for rejoining, including a 30% discount and a UK contribution of around £570 million for 2027, covering the 2027/28 academic year.
