(We now see postgraduate student Pragya Sharma in front of the Sign for Art sculpture, which is better known on campus as the Wavy Bacon).
Pragya Sharma, postgraduate student: Leeds was an easy choice. I mean Russell Group, world top one hundred and research intensive.
(We now see postgraduate student, Emilio Rincon and undergraduate student Saraa Al Brashdi sat together in The Edit Room café.)
Emilio: I love this city you know, for me, it's like a home from home. It's big, but not too big.
(Drone footage from Woodhouse Moor shows the School of Chemical and Process Engineering in the foreground and the rest of the campus and Leeds city centre in the background. We then see a group of students walking down Otley Road and two students sat eating in The Doner Shack.)
(We return to Emilio and Saraa sat in The Edit Room café.)
Saraa: Honestly same here. I feel like I've grown so much more as a person and I'm a lot more confident now as well.
(We now see undergraduate student Katie Hartmann sat in a communal space in the Liberty Building, with other students collaborating in the background.)
Katie: My lecturers are leading experts in their fields. They advise the government.
(We see footage of people walking down a busy street with colourful bunting overhead. Then six students stood talking in front of a colourful mural.)
Katie: I've also really enjoyed volunteering with Street Law, a brilliant project working with local schools.
(We now see postgraduate student, Anita Shih walking down a corridor in the School of Media and Communication, talking directly to camera.)
Antia: You can come here alone and suddenly you’re part of a community,
(We now see a sequence of footage of students having fun: students playing rugby, Leeds Gryphons hockey team celebrating in the net, a group sat talking at a table outside and friends enjoying a drink on campus. We then return to see Antia leaving the School of Media and Communication and walking out into Clothworkers Court.)
Antia: A really inclusive one. It's so welcoming and safe, and there's a real buzz around the city.
(We now see PhD student Nametso Khumo sat at a laboratory desk in the Faculty of Biological Sciences LC Miall Building.)
Nametso: I started with my Degree in Biotechnology, got my Masters, and then stayed at Leeds to get my PhD. It's a real community.
(Namesto is shown walking through the lab in the LC Miall Building, before we see some students working with a centrifuge machine and a male student, wearing goggles looking at a purple solution in a test tube.)
Nametso: There's an amazing energy and the facilities are incredible.
(We now see undergraduate student Romy Harwood Walton sat in a communal area in the Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Building, then a shot of him talking to a tutor.)
Romy: The support has been brilliant. When I needed help in my second year, my tutor never gave up on me.
(We see an overhead shot of Romy walking through a busy seating area in the Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Building, with students sitting around working together. We then see Romy walking with a friend next to the Sir William Henry Bragg Building, with a side of the Parkinson Building in shot.)
Romy: And I got financial support too. My bursary has opened doors to all of the opportunities here at Leeds.
(We now see Alison Lowe OBE, the Deputy Mayor for Police and Crime in West Yorkshire, and a 映客直播 Alum, walking through Leeds city centre.)
Alison: I was born and bred in Leeds. I attended the 映客直播. I loved every minute of it because it embodies what Leeds is all about.
(We see the busy outdoor area at the IF Rooftop bar in the city centre, artwork at the Leeds Art Gallery, a colourful walking band from the Light Night Leeds festival and students around The Cooling Pond in front of the Roger Stevens Building.)
Alison: Fun, inclusion, equality.
(We then see postgraduate student Pragya Sharma – still stood in front of the Sign for Art sculpture.)
Pragya: But what really stands out for me is the way we learn here.
(We see a sequence of footage showing students interacting with a digital white board in a classroom, a seminar with multiple screens showcasing stocks and shares figures to a group of students, a lecturer in front of a busy auditorium of students, a photography student with her camera and a student in a Leeds Today TV studio environment with a presenter and camera crew.)
Pragya: With real world experience, live client briefs. Lectures from business leaders and industry placements. Basically, gathering all the valuable skills that employers are looking for.
(We now see Dr. Will Homoky, Associate Professor of Marine Geochemistry, in front of the Priestley Centre Climate Futures Building.)
Dr. Will Homoky: My research studies some of the human impacts on our oceans. And that's taken me from the shores of the UK to the shores of Antarctica.
(We see footage of a team working in Antarctica, craning material onto the ice, scientists drilling into the ice and a seal surfacing and jumping onto an iceberg in the Southern Ocean.)
Dr. Will Homoky, Associate Professor of Marine Geochemistry: Where I study the chemical transfer of elements, from the land to the sea, and how they impact marine life and how that marine life is responding to global environmental change.
(We now see Justine Andrew, a partner at KPMG, stood outside her glass-fronted offices. We then see her talking about KMPG’s relationship with the university, as she stands in front of an office window with some of the Leeds skyline behind her.)
Justine: We've worked with the 映客直播 for many years.
(We see a sequence of footage showing a businesswoman presenting in an innovation centre space to businesspeople, a student looking for a book in a library, and a meeting in a breakout area in an office space.)
Justine: We combine real world insight with academic expertise, and that creates new ways of thinking to better support entrepreneurs and tackle real business challenges.
(We now see Leeds Alum and co-founder and director of Seeai, Saile Villegas sat on a bench with fellow Leeds Alum and Seeai co-founder and director and Leeds Alum Reo Ogusu stood behind her. We see them walking together through the Nexus Building before seeing them sat together in a breakout area.)
Saile: Leeds made sure we had all the skills we needed for the future. And they were the key to us starting our own AI business.
Reo: And while we were still studying. Honestly, the support we received was unbelievable.
Saile: From business advice, the business plan, funding and even office space.
(We see external footage of the Nexus Building, then students in discussion at a table, then three students walking though the Parkinson Building, more students sat having coffee at a table, and then finally two students with VR headsets on, holding controllers, engaged in a virtual world.)
Reo: Yeah, we went from being two international students to being part of this vibrant Leeds tech community.
(PhD Student Nikita Greenidge appears on screen, stood in the STORM lab, smiling at the camera, with a robotic arm and laboratory equipment in the background.)
Nikita: At Leeds we’re addressing global health disparity and showing the power of collaboration.
(Footage of students appears on screen walking through campus, with the School of Media and Communication in the background, then Nikita leads a group of students up the stairs in the STORM lab and showing them equipment, then Nikita leads students through a corridor.)
Nikita: We've hosted students from universities around the world, to work with us on cutting edge research that solves real world challenges.
